Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: In my 2003 version of the Michel Ganzsachen Katalog they are listed under the title Privantganzsachen-Ubersicht with a PK prefix, but it is just a straight list with little detail. In my 1978 version of the Borek Ganzsachen Katalog 1850-1932 they are listed under Deutsche Reich-Kartenbrief auf Privatbestellung, there is some more information here than in the Michel catalogue. But if you are interested in the detail I would recommend the Katalog der Privatganzsachen bis 1945 by Joachim Strahlendorff and Peter Mette (2019). This really is an excellent catalogue with details of both the Marine and Field Army versions of the cards and full colour images. The one illustrated in your post looks like Mi. PK13/E1 or Borek 13 E1. Its one of three Field Army versions of this card, two of these have the line over Feldpostbrief with perforation of 11½ (no. 01) or 12¾ (no. 02), the third version has no line over Feldpostbrief. This card does also come in the Marine version of the cards (E2). The card should have “(08.17)” in the bottom left corner, which is the date the original card was produced. This card was used in the civil post without the need for additional franking for local and distant inland post from 6th May 1920 to 31st March 1921. Hope this helps Kind Regards Brian
