Message: | Hello Mike – I don't think it's an expertiser's mark but was probably applied by a dealer. Some dealers did this to identify particular stamps as having been sold by them to prevent a buyer returning a different stamp complaining that the one sold was not acceptable. Some dealers also applied such marks setting themselves up as expertisers. The infamous dealer Ruberg in Danzig did this even on the stamps which he had fraudulently overprinted !
