Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: Hi Rex. The cover is from the Bizone and it is dated 1946. The phrase 'Einschreiben mit Rückantwort' was typed on the envelope by the sender above the address. This phrase is underlined in type script and also by a red pen or fine-tipped crayon. There is an emergency registered post label affixed for Stuttgart 8. The envelope is franked with 145 Rpf of stamps, which by my reckoning is 60 Rpf for registered post, 60 Rpf for Rückshein, 24 Rpf for a long distance letter and 1 Rpf overfranked. The stamps were all cancelled with a de-nazified Stuttgart circular date stamp on 26th March 1946 and the back of the envelope has a receiving cancel dated one day later, just as you would expect for registered post.
