Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: Thanks Giles, that was my conclusion, and it is nice that you have confirmed it. I will admit that this sprung from no knowledge on my part. I simply put letters of the alphabet in front of the "ielit" that I was confident of from the mark on the cover. I didn't have to go too far when Bielitz popped up. There's no other postal marking on the cover, but onits journey, it has been opened and resealed with "zollamtlich geöffnet" tape.
