Message: | The item was issued for the 45th German philatelists meeting in 1939. It was assigned the following number PP 122 C 100 in the Michel Privtepostkarten-Katalog Deutschland Deutsches Reich 1873-1945, published in 1984. The compiler, Hanspeter Frech, has edited a new edition which was not issued by Michel. In the 1984, the card rate DM 18. I have a copy of the new edition of this work on order. This card was sponsored by the German national philatelic group and was thus not an official issue of the Reichspost, although the Reichspost imprinted the 3 Rpf Hindenberg stamp. It is what is termed a printed-to-private order card. A great many such cards have been issued in Germany over many years. Best wishes, Benjamin R. Beede | ||||||||||||||||
