Message: | The DM-currency DDR stamps were issued on 2.7.90 when the DM was introduced and remained valid (throughout Germany) until 31.12.91. BRD stamps started to be sold in the DDR after unification on 3.10.90 after unification. So mixed frankings of BRD and these DM DDR stamps would be quite normal in the early days of united Germany. However, West Berlin and DDR stamps would never have been sold in the same post offices, so any such mixed franking would be philatelic, as here. Philatelists would have produced many some examples. Hope that helps, Rex | ||||||||||||||||||||
