Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: hello Steve, my 2003 4th edition of the Schantl Plattenfehler Katalog does not list this flaw. Despite your finding two examples I doubt whether it was a constant variety. I think the notch would have been caused by a bit of foreign matter on the printing plate which persisted for a while until it was either cleaned off or fell off (as you say a "confetti flaw"). Other similar flaws on this issue (four of them) listed by Schantl are each described as applying to a part of the issue only (Teilauflage). Best wishes Giles
