Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: Glad that I could assist you to some extent. Have been looking at some other sources. One item in my library is an Austrian postal rate booklet issued for the new year 1938. Sadly, nothing is said about C.O.D. The registered and express mail rates are shown as 40 g and 30 g, respectively. Let me know if other early 1938 rates would help you. I also checked the 1935 edition of the Reichspost's Briefpostbuch. There is information on Austria about rates to Germany but again nothing on C.O.D. The Anschluss era is not a major specialty of mine, but I am gradually more interested. Best wishes, Ben Beede
