Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: Hello Michael The stamp seems simply to be an ink offset usually caused when a sheet of stamps picks up ink that is still wet from a sheet stacked below it (also possible with rotary printing). In my experience such offset stamps are not uncommon although not often seen on stamps from the Reichsdruckerei during normal times. But when they were under extreme pressure to produce high volumes of stamps quality control did slip. cheers Giles
