Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: I am not an expert in this area but do have quite a number of Feldpost items in my collection. I’ve checked the quoted Fieldpost number 19787 in ‘Die deutsche Feldpostübersicht 1939-1945 by Norbert Kannapin and then checked the army unit given there against their details in ‘Verbände und Truppen der deutschen Wehrmacht und Waffen-SS 1939-1945’ by Georg Tessin. This confirms the 2nd Company, Signals Detachment 29, 29th Infantry Division as described and the fact that they were destroyed at Stalingrad in January 1943. The FELDPOST handstamp seems OK to me albeit rather a clear strike. It matches illustrations given in ‘Michel, Handbuch-Katalog Deutsche Feldpost 1937-1945’ particularly in respect of the little ink marks above the ‘- - -‘ before the date. You don’t mention what’s on the back.
