Message: | Having worked in an office long before computers, and used a very similar stamp, I would suggest that it simply means that the item was received in the office at 07:00 on 8th August. Probably not an official mark at all, simply a record of delivery for the recipient. The one I used in the 1970s also didn’t have a year, just the day and month. It also said London, Midland & Scottish Railway, some 25 years after that company had ceased to exist, but that’s another story. | ||||||||||||||||||||
