Message: | Allan - I have little knowledge of these stamps but the Michel numbers for the T&T 1865 issue are 35 to 44 and for the 1866 45-54. If you go to Philasearch you can find good images which may help you differentiate between the two issues. for example the 1/4 gr Mi. 35 is at page http://www.philasearch.com/en/dosearch.php3?breadcrumbId=&postype=all&pictureview=&suchtext=Thurn+und+taxis&selectId=&pictureview=&auktionnr=-1&page=42#.UdNFn9gkwmQ and the 1/4 gr Mi. 45 is at page http://www.philasearch.com/en/dosearch.php3?breadcrumbId=&postype=all&pictureview=&suchtext=Thurn+und+taxis&selectId=&pictureview=&auktionnr=-1&page=47#.UdNG69gkwmR which latter indicates that it is the rouletting which is coloured on the later set. Hope this helps Giles | ||||||||||||||||
