Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: I consulted the Autumn 2012 of "Austria", the journal of the APS, which devotes one and a half pages to this issue, but it doesn't really help. All it says is "The catastrophic floods of September 1920 which devasted large areas of Austria were very little noticed outside the Federal Republic. Nevertheless the damage which they inflicted was of such magnitude that federal relief had to be provided."
