The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: I can at least narrow the dates for you. According to Johannes Nawrocki, Die ersten Barfreimachungen (Leipzig: Verlag Fritz Seifert, 1937?), p. 20, the cash paid marking with 75 Rpf. was used between October 1, 1918, and the end of August 1922. Such cash paid markings were introduced on January 1, 1894, but for some time they bore only the word "Franco" or the phrase "Gebuehr bezahlt," with the latter abbreviated in some cases, in lieu of a denomination. Note that such markings were used only in Wurttemburg. Ben Beede
