Message: | Norman, A for Abend and M for Morgen were the standard forms used in postmarks before V and N became the norm (and I'm not sure when that was). They are not scarce as such though can become scarce the later they are used in the Reichspost era. The use of a composite time (e.g. one hour N to another hour V) is actually scarcer -- I have only ever seen one, a single-circle of 1871. A composite time V to N is less scarce, though still not common. Best wishes, Philip | ||||||||||||||||
