Message: | Hello, Joe. What you refer to is not an overprint but part of a censor's 'pass-through' mark (Durchlaufstempel) signalling that the item was submitted for censorship but not opened. A variety of these (mostly recurring machine) marks were used by the Munich censors' office in 1946-7. The complete cachet reads 'Released / C C D / Group "A"' (CCD = Civil Censorship Division).
