Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: I think any item connected to Germany is legitimately part of a German PH collection; whether you cholose to include it in yours is purely a matter of personal taste! Some items may seem more connected to Germany than others, for example covers franked with Belgian, British, Danish, Dutch, French, US etc stamps with sender's address and/or postmark specifying Germany or with cachets such as ‘NIEDERL. FELDPOST | Ermässigte Gebühr’, ‘British Field Post | Ermässigte Gebühr’, ‘Poste Militaire Belge / Ermässigte Gebühr’, etc.; or official mail with e.g. BAOR cachets. Best wishes, Philip
