Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: Joe, The Michel by far gives much more information than the SG Part 7 catalogue. Depending on how much information you require on any given subject consider making use of the GCPS Library. Although the Michel is expensive it is worth considering a newer version. In the 2006 for example the Colonies section has been extensively revised. With a lot of new information and prices being given based on information supplied by the Arge. (study group) If unable to understand fully the the German abbreviations and explanations then I would recommend buying the Will Payne English translations of Michel which are also available from the Society.
