Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: There is a rather large literature on the subject of Rohrpost, some of it very technical. For example, over several decades a German author issued various editions of a two-volume set which goes into high detailed descriptions of the equipment. I can provide a citation for those books and some others. An item that might of more practical interest is Werner Buettner's Neben- und Sonderstempel der Berliner Postanstalten, published in 1999. I think it is still readily available. Buettner provides illustrations of the various Rohrpost cancellations used over time. Ben Beede
