Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: Hello Eric The stamp is indeed from a Polish local stamp issue of 1918 not listed in the Michel Deutschland Spezial but in the Polish Fischer Katalog. The overprint 'Na Skarb Naradowy' (For the National Treasury) in the form seen on your stamp was applied to ten values of the German 'Gen.-Gouv. Warschau' overprinted Germania stamps in November 1918 in the city of Wloclawek. In my 2016 Fischer Katalog the stamps are each priced at 100zl mint and 200zl used. The same wording of Polish overprint but in a different form was also applied to Gen.-Gouv. stamps in the town of Kolo. Best wishes Giles
