The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).
The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.
Can anyone send me scans or a list of the Scott numbers for the Saarland President Heuss stamps 1957. Saarland is not in the 3A G - Germany catalogue, it is in the 5A catalogue under S.
I had to buy the 3A and 3B catalogues as they come as a set. I gave away the 3B I to H as I had no use (or space) for it. I cannot afford to buy the 5A+5B set just for Saarland. You will get a mention in my forthcoming book The Head of State on German Stamps. Scott have given me permission to use their numbers, as have Michel and SG.
