Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: The above issue is listed in both the Gibbons and Michael catalogues as being printed on toned paper (SG102 to 119a) and white paper (120 to 129). But is it really possible to distinguish the two? I have seen stamps offered for sale in both categories and have been unable to tell the difference. The Michael catalogue underlines this by saying that the paper types in both groups come in a range of shades! Does anyone have an answer?
