The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: I have recently acquired Private postal stationary in the form of Kartenbrief. These are given Mi numbers in the Michel postal stationary catalogue of PK3-PK41. Brought in to use between 1919 and 1922 they have 1, 2, or 3 imprinted stamps. Kartenbrief would normally be imprinted with stamps to the value of the standard inland rate for the lowest weight letter. But some of these have imprinted frankings at rates that I can not find in the Michel postal fees handbook. E.g. PK16=50pf, PK17=70pf, several at 175pf, PK40=180Marks. Does anyone know what these might have been intended for, or can someone steer me to sources of information. Thankyou. Brian
