The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).
The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.
I'm a new member to the society as well as a fairly new novice to German Philately (two years!). I note the Midlands Group is currently in abeyance and wondering if anybody local to my area in Northamptonshire/Bedfordshire could help me expertise and understand my specific collection of 1945-49 Allied Occ. collection? I collect the Bi-Zone stamps and Soviet Zone. Also I have a collection of AM Post stamps which I'd like to know more about before I pass them onto other collectors, as I don't collect them myself. I also have a near complete collection of DDR stamps and covers which would be nice to get another's opinion on too.
