The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).
The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.
I have a question concerning the Dienstmarken/Official stamps of 1920, DR Michel 16-22, SG O117-123. These are inscribed "21". Michel states that these stamps were for use in Prussia ("Dienstmarken fuer Preussen"). SG describes the stamps as "With figures "21" for use in all areas outside Prussia". These statements seem to contradict each other. What was the real status of these stamps? In just what areas of the Reich were they used?
