I am in need of some information on this letter. It was sent in 1991 as a registered / advice of receipt letter to Hungary but returned back to the sender, as can be seen by the Hungarian postal label (which I cannot read, alas). What I cannot figure out is the postal rate paid; DM 6.00. My Michel Special states that during this period the Reply rate was DM 2.50 and the registration rate the same, ie DM 2.50 but that leaves DM 1. According to the Michel a foreign letter rate was DM 1.40. However, the inland letter rate was DM 1.00, so did Hungary enjoy a inland letter rate at this time? Or is it under franked, which I doubt as it must have been handed into a PO. Any information on this would be most welcome. |
