Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: This on piece 1944 Feldpost Christmas package stamp came to me some years ago in a collection of material I had bought in an auction. I know what it is supposed to be, a 1945 Kurland provisional but always thought it was probably a forgery. However, recently a whole cover was displayed in a Bennetts auction and it had the same Deutsche Feldpost handstamp. In fact, it appears that my copy was cut out from an identical Feldpost brief. (you can just see the bottom curve of the letter 'F' on my on piece). This makes me wish to re-evaluate my on piece example. The stamp has some surface damage to the top right.
