Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: I have recently seen two imperf minature sheets, titled FREISTAAT ASCH, both contain four dipictions with values, the top left a baby's head with an eagle, top right buildings and a sun, bottom left a pair of arms breaking free of a pair of shackles, and bottom right ? a dove carrying a twig flying over a city. Each has the word ASCH printed on it contained in a slopping box and the four values are 10h 25h 50h and 1kr. The one sheet is printed totally in black and the second in Red with an overprint in black of a swatzticker and a date of ??1938. I beleive this could be a part of czhecoslavakia which declared it self part of the sudetenland, just prior to the German annexation of that area. I would be extremely grateful for any information about these sheets including who or where they maybe listed, and some indication of rareity/ value. Many thanks Martyn Bailey.
