The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).
The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.
For about the twentieth time now somebody has asked me why Michel does not issue their catalog in English, the whole catalog, I know Murrey Paine did small translations but people want the entire catalog. Could anybody give me a comprehensive reason why? apart from "they don't want to" surely they would sell thousands all over the world to people (like me) who do not read German. I really am fed up with just saying "I dunno".
