After last year's experience with regummed stamps from ebay, a quick update on recent dealings with Herr Schlegel.
First, certificates make a substantial difference to value in comparison with signed stamps. A red Berlin overprint 1m sold for 113 euros signed and 163 euros certificated, on ebay last week.
Second, Herr Schlegel is very co-operative, but takes his time. I sent him the four best Berlin sets from a collection I'd bought, and he consulted me about the best way of certifying them as two of the sets had small faults in low values. This saved quite a lot on the cost of certificates, and left me feeling I'd not done so badly this time. If you have any stamps that need to be re-certified, and don't mind waiting three months, Herr Schlegel is a good person to deal with. |
