Most advice on detecting regumming tells us to look at the perf tips for traces of gum on fibres or perf holes. Fakers have got round this by using a mask to keep their new gum away from the perfs. Hard to see under normal magnification, but I bought a little computer microscope for some children in the family, and it shows it up a treat. Even takes a photo.
