Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: Most advice on detecting regumming tells us to look at the perf tips for traces of gum on fibres or perf holes. Fakers have got round this by using a mask to keep their new gum away from the perfs. Hard to see under normal magnification, but I bought a little computer microscope for some children in the family, and it shows it up a treat. Even takes a photo. The files are too big for this site, but I've put them on my own blog http://johnbald.typepad.com/stamps/ If anyone is interested, I'll happily show them the little device, and would be happy to bring it to a society meeting to demonstrate.
