Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: I am interested in this chap and having ask this site for information and failed to get a response, you might be interested in what I have found so far Heinrich Treitel Born 1875 1894 He spent 6 months at the University of Zurich as a Philosophy student. He studied Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Berlin and graduated in 1901 as Dipl.Ing. He won a silver medal and a travel grant of 1500 marks. Heinrich was an early collector of Postmarks in Germany. He was responsible for the Postmark News in the magazine “ Deutsch Sammler Zeitung and he subscribed to Fritz Paeplow who ran a Postmark and novelty service in the association. In the 1920’s Heinrich published in the periodical “ Die Naturwissenschaften an organ of “ Der Gesellschaft Deutscher Naturforscher und Ärzte. He became a director of the AEG Turbine factory in Berlin – Moabit. His registered address from 1933 was as follows, 1933 Treitel, Heinrich Ingen. Charlottenberg, Hardenberg straß 9a 1934 Treitel, Heinrich Ingen. Charlottenberg, Hardenberg straß 9a 1935 Treitel, Heinrich Dipl.Ingen Charlottenberg, Uhland Straß 6 1936 Treitel, Heinrich Dipl.Ingen Charlottenberg, Uhland Straß 6 1937 Treitel, Heinrich Fabrik Dir.I.R Charlottenberg, Uhland Straß 6 1938 Treitel, Heinrich Fabrik Dir.I.R Charlottenberg, Uhland Straß 6 1939 NOT REGISTERED. He was Jewish, and the rest as they say is History. Believed to have died in The United States in 1955
