The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).
The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.
I recently purchased some Heuss stamps together with something I really wanted. Before putting them away in a box for later sale, I flashed the UV Lamp over them and was very surprised to find the 70 Pfg value reflecting 'white' flourescence. It is completely different from the creamy yellow flourescence of the 'y' issues. Is this a rare stamp, a normal stamp that is not listed in Michel Spezial or a forgery? Anyone else ever come across this?
