Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: Whilst speaking with a non-philatelist ex-London society photographer, he said that he believed that the Hitler head stamps of the early 1940s were not the first ones, but that a Jewish photographer had taken and prepared portraiture stamps of Hitler in 1933, but these had been stopped once Hitler learnt the photographer's religious faith. I said I thought this was not so, but put the suggestion here to the society, in case someone can agree or deny this belief...
