Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: About 3 years ago I wrote to GERMANIA asking for help with a postmark (now 2); I have several copies of Brutschild stamps with Hamburg pms. where the name of the city is followed by the abbreviaton ¨P.V.2¨ What do these letters stand for? My ideas are (a) Post Vorort ie suburb or (b) Post Verwaltungsbezirk ie administrative district. Second query is with another Brutscild stamp with the pm. Leipzig K.P.A. III. What does the K. stand for? Any ideas gratefully received.
