Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society
The year 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of the first year of operation of the Germany & Colonies Philatelic Society following the amalgamation of the Germany & Colonies Stamp Club (established 1947) and the Stockton German Study Group (1960).

The G&CPS celebrated its inaugural year in 1964 with the first Germania Posta philatelic exhibition held in Stockton.

Message: From time to time covers from the Weimar Republic or Third Reich appear on which part of the postage was paid through bulk mailing arrangments (with the inscription: Frei durch Abloesung Reich) and part by official stamps (for special services, such as express). I can readily understand ordinary postage stamps being used to pay special fees, but I find it difficult to understand why an agency (usually at the national level) that had a bulk mailing agreement with the Reichspost would have official stamps (which were used primarily by state agencies)available at all. I have the provisions of the 1929 Postordnung on bulk mail and official stamps, but those documents do not seem to answer my question. Thank you for your comments
